Liking on based on country is possible when you sign up for this add-on to Talos Growth. Since this is an add-on, you need to make sure that you have an active Talos Growth subscription. This is particular useful if you only want to like posts for example in the USA, and don't want to like other posts written in English. It also works in a country where a lot of users use English as language on LinkedIn, like the Netherlands. You can then select country 'Netherlands' and language = ALL.
If the country selection is switched on, we recommend you to set languages to 'all languages' to make sure you don't apply a double filter on your likes. When enabling the countries add-on you might see a decrease in likes given out, but they are more targeted on your specific audience.
After you've started Talos on the dashboard page, you can see what Talos is doing. It is for example liking, researching posts or logging in. You also have an overview here of the number of likes Talos gave out, and the number of followers over time of your account. On the 'Keywords & Likes' tab you can see how many likes are giving for a particular keyword. All date and times displayed are in UTC.
The 'keyword suggestions' tab can give you insights in what other keywords you want to use. It counts the # of keywords other people use in their posts, and gives this information back to you. Helpful if you want to add some keywords to on your settings page!
On the bottom of the dashboard page you see the likes that are most recently given out. You can see what post is liked when, when it's posted and on what keyword it was found. All date and times displayed are in UTC. You can also click directly to the post to for example also type a comment as your company page - if you're logged in as admin - and click the keyword to see the search results.
When running Talos, you can set the following parameters:
Basic settings:
The basic settings are the settings on the first tab of the settings page, and you want to make sure you set these before you start Talos.
Keywords:
Keywords are the search terms Talos will use to find posts for you to like on LinkedIn. These can be #hashtags - like #marketing, #startup etc. - or natural language - like 'marketing automation', 'startup companies', etc.. Talos will use LinkedIn search functionality to search on these search terms and find posts to like. The recommend setting is between 7 - 10 keywords, depending on the post frequency on these keywords.
Languages:
Using the language setting you can select what languages Talos will like. For example if you have a Dutch operating shoe company, you want to use the keyword 'schoen' instead of 'shoe' if you only want to like posts in Dutch. We already have companies from all over the world working with Talos locally.
Countries:
If you've signed up for the countries add-on, you can select what countries to like here. If the country selection is switched on, we recommend you to set languages to 'all languages' to make sure you don't apply a double filter on your likes. When enabling the countries add on you might see a decrease in likes given out, but they are more targeted on your specific audience.
Likes:
You can between how many likes a post can have if you want to like it. Maybe you never want to give out the first like, select >1. Maybe you don't want to like posts with >60 likes, you can select that.
Advanced settings
Advanced settings might help you tuning Talos even better for you. These are placed on the second tab on the settings page.
Exclude authors:
No one likes their own posts right? You can exclude yourself - and maybe your competitors - here.
Exclude words:
You might not want to like someone for being fired. You can exclude words here.
Post age:
How old is a page allowed to like it? You might only want to like posts that are at least 1 hour old, or don't want to like posts that are older than 48 hours.
On the left of the settings page you can set the LinkedIn settings. Please note that if you let us deliver the LinkedIn Admin account, you don't have to any your settings here.
You have to set here the username and password of a LinkedIn account that is content admin or super admin to your company page.
We recommend you to create a separate LinkedIn account to avoid hitting search limits on LinkedIn. When you use your personal account, this would mean you're not able to search anymore. This is reset on a daily basis. To avoid this you can create a separate LinkedIn account dedicated to Talos, who should be admin on the page. We can provide such an account for you for € 10,00 per month.
On the bottom under 'LinkedIn company id' you fill the id of your company, of which Talos will be used for. Please see this article how to find the company id.
On the second tab on the left you can update your Talos account settings. Currently we only support one Talos username / password combination. The notification email is inform you that a user action is required.
